holy oil leak batman!

i just got a tune up and an oil change, i was warming up the car this morn in the garage and something told me to look under it. how about my brand new expensive idematsu syn oil from rx7.com was running like niagara falls from off of the plastic under tray and dripping down onto the floor, it must have been 1/4 of a quart.

question: since it was rolling off the undertray could it more likely be the oil filter and not the oil pan since the pan is further back from the undertray? thanks in advance.

You took the time to log on and post this when you could have just jacked up the car to see what the cause was. ROFL at you.

what side does it look like its coming from... take a look for it...if you just got an oil change it didnt leak before, and now its leaking ...that should set off a red flag...

it happened this morning as i was warming up the car to drive to work but then took the daily driver when i saw exxon valdeeez oil spill. i have been at work all day and am still at work.

also i just remembered that i had an autometer oil pressure gauge installed, i called my mechanic and he said that he could have tapped into to far or something like that and will come out tomorrow tonight to double check.

oil leak update

earlier i posted that had a major leak, but come to find out (and yes i am a newbie to the FD), that it was actually a coolant leak. since i had just changed my oil i thought that was it. but luckily the ast hose on the bottom wasnt clamped on tight enough, my mechanic came over to verify and fix and now everything is fine. thanks mike at five star tuning.

and you couldn't have posted in your thread from yesterday? How can you mistake coolant for oil?

Well, glad it's fixed.
