"Hold Button" sporadically lighting up
Hi people, just a quick one.... does anyone know why the 'hold' light would come on as I go through the auto gears manually... I do not push the button and all of a sudden the 'hold' engages...and it actually engages... also sometimes the button no longer turns off the 'hold' feature, especially in 'drive'... Any solutions would be appreciated... by the way its a series 8 2000 rx7 with standard ecu and no modificiations at all...
Thank you in advance

Hold Button
Thanks Guys for the quick responses and help.. I probably did not explain myself very well. The dash "hold" light is not flashing and the car is driving fine, it is just that when I select a gear and try to "hold" it, sometimes the dash "hold" light does not come on and other times it comes on, on its own accord... If I shift to 'park' the dash "hold" light now comes on and then when I shift to drive it goes off and back to second it comes back on. I can assure you I am not hitting the 'hold button' accidentally between shifts.. my hand are no where near the button... If you have any other suggestions I would appreciate you assistance and I still have no clues

Constant threat
I would suggest taking the switch out and doing some continuity checks on it to see if it is just malfunctioning. Or you may have a wire grounding out or not making a connection well.
The tranny has its own ECU and you can pull codes for it, and it should be tripping them if there is anything wrong physically with the transmission.
Good luck!
