HKS Twin Power Placement?
Hi all, I recently installed my HKS Twin Power onto my car. I ended up mounting my HKS TP next to my alternator, using the bracket that used to hold the stock I.C. piping. The HKS harness runs directly behind and on top of the alternator. With such placement, will I have radio interference? Here's a picture of where I placed the HKS TP.

Thought about heat as well, but givent the fact that it was made to mount in the engine bay, temps can not differ that much to make a difference where exactly you mount it. I think the only factors would be interference, and possibly not optimal grounding for it is mounted onto a mounting bracket, rather than the body or engine block- though I think the grounding spot is sufficient. If not, I'l take it off and sand the brackelt down to metal..
vibration could be a factor though....

Drive the car and get her hot. The shut her down and let it sit for a moment. Then touch your strut tower bar, ouch, hot. Now touch the fender wall on the other side of the engine compartment where your brake booster is and other ignition stuff. This area does not burn you to the touch. There is a big difference in heat depending on where you look under the hood.
I will be installing my TP soon and will palce it somewhere in that area (by the brake booster). I also have a sperate ground wire/attachment to the chassis on that side.

yes you are right about certain places getting hotter than others. I guess my point is that if it was made to install in teh engine bay, then it should be able to take high temperatures....

if you look on the Driver side of the motor.
and look down IE: where the wheel well is.
There should be a hole there with threads,
that doesn't seem to be used for anything.
I mounted my TWIN pack there.. Perfect spot IMO.

I put mine over by the brake booster. My cruise control has been removed to make space for the twin power and my fpr. There is a small ledge that is perfect for the twinpower and a single screw into the firewall does the job perfectly. Harness wires a good fit and I ground to the ignitor ground. So if you dont have cruise put it there...

I mounted mine next to the igniter.
Just because the HKS is designed to be in an engine bay doesn't mean you should mount it on the downpipe. Or, as a friend of mine used to say "Just because you bought a hardpack of smokes doesn't mean you can sit on them all day".
Use a little common sense.

I have my TwinPower mounted to a tab on the cruise control unit. I can't remember exactly, but I didn't add any brackets or anything. There was a hole right there and it fits fine.
