Question actuator vacuum test question

according to the FSM, they give you a number for pressure or vacuum to apply to test an actuator. It just says things like "verify the actuator rod is pulled" or "verify the actuator rod is move (sic)"

Should the actuator move its complete stroke at the specified pressure, or only begin moving? Which one constitutes passing the test?

On another note, where would I get a replacement CCV, CCA, or other failure-prone part that isn't available separately? Will greasing the mechanism of the CCA help it work better?

I think just making sure it will move it the main goal of testing unless it provides a distance that should be measured. All those other things you should be able to find in the FS section, unless you want them new then you should goto mazda with some ky.

If it moves it moves. It's definetly not going to be an instant thing, so it should be gradual.

What to make sure you check is that its not leaking. Hopefully, you have a pump with a gauge on it. Give it some vacuum/pressure, and let it sit. Look at the guage to make sure it doesn't move.

Thank you very much. My boost pattern is only a little off (low transition, slow to build boost) and I suspect a tired actuator - so it's really important I don't make a mistake with interpreting these tests.
