HKS Twin Power CA CARB exempt

I'd read somewhere that the HKS Twin Power is CA CARB exempt. I'm not really sure how the whole "CARB exempttion" thing in CA works... I think exempt items are supposed to come with a sticker...? I bought my Twin Power used (thankfully it works!) and of course it came with no papers/stickers. Is there any way to still claim this "CARB exempt" status when smog time rolls around?

I am not aware of a twinpower coming with carb stickers. Mount it and send it. If anything the car should run cleaner with the stronger spark.

The HKS Twin Power takes all of 2 minutes to install and remove, worst case scenario just remove it when you go to get the car checked.

No doubt that is what I should do. I did, however, find it to be pretty damn difficult to get my hands down there and at the proper angles to work with the connectors when I installed it. I think it took me about 30 minutes of standing there awkwardly swearing to get it.

There are some CARB Executive Orders for the Twin-Power, it depends on the part number. Here is where to look: CARB EO's by manufacturer If the FD Twin-Power is #43001-AK002, its approved.

HKS was one of the very few aftermarket companies that worked to obtain actual approvals for their performance products. Quite a few parts did get EO's.

Wow, killer! That saves 30 minutes of swearing! Well worth it. Thank you.

Edit: Funny, I didn't see '20b swap' in there...
