Question HKS Turbo Timer Install Questions

Ok, i already ran a search but i still need a little more info. I am in the process of installing a Type-1 HKS Turbo TImer and i have come across a few question. FIrst...where have most of you placed the actual timer? I am thinking about the glove box or door. But i dont think the harness will reach the timer if i install them there. Is there a way i can extend the timer and/or harness wires to make ends meet? I just tryed to remove the steering column. I removed all 3 screws and the plactic piece is now very loose. THe only problem is i cant get it too seperate into 2 pieces. I tryed to lightly pull them apart but to no avail. Should i pry a flat head screw driver and pop em apart crow-bar style? I just dont want to break anything. Well any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks alot!

i dont think so, but i have heard that it is very hard to get that and you need to pry the tab up with a mini screwdriver and pull like a SOB

The plug harness is a bitch to get off and you have to cram the wires up there. Just be patient so you don't break anything. You can push the clip in and try to pry the plugs apart with a flathead. No you dont have to unsrew that bolt. You can extend the wires, just simply cut 1 wire at a time, get some extra wire to your desired length and place it in the middle of the cut wire, and solder both ends.

i got the plugs disconnected and one end of the harness connnected to one of the plugs...(i connected the harness to the loose opne, not the one thats screwed down. It seems impossible to get the other half of the harness in place. Oh well, i guess i'll go and keep trying...

FINALLY got the harness in place!!! Talk about one helluva PITA. THe turbo timer and harness both come with a wire to hook up to the e-brake...should i connect just one, if so which one? Or should i connect both? Thanks for the help.

On that TT you have to connect the ebrake wire for it to work. I don't remember what color it was or where it came from (grey maybe??) but you only need to hook up one. I would say the one going directly to the tt. I don't think it matters which wire you splice into for the ebrake.
