HKS racing suction air Intake system for RX-7

Car is: RX-7 Twin Turbo 1999-2000

I am actually looking on replacing the restrictive stock airbox with the HKS racing suction air Intake system. Anyone knows if its worth it?

Can i have a picture of it installed on RX-7!

Thanks

You know that you can just get the filters individually, right?

The air pump is what makes the "moo" sound. And it's not desirable.

And it's not the hard pipes that create moo sound, it's having an open intake period. The moo sound is almost unnoticeable with box-style intakes.

My m2 intake box i had was almost as loud as the open air intakes. I bascially used the same method Pettit does on their intakes to filter out the sound on my HKS now....and you can barely hear it at all now.

The "moo" sound is not from the airpump but it comes from the second turbo airflow valve/pump.

It's the hose coming from the back/under the UIM.

Put an oil pan relief filter on it with some extra airfiltermaterial pushed into it (or just something spongy)

it's an air vent only so nothing will be getting in the engine that way

it looks like your airguide stops all airflow to them.

if the moo-ing is there - you'll know about it.

Interestingly, mine has suddenly stopped (90% of it, and the constant 2500rpm drone) - I have no idea why, but I hope it's a good thing (the lack of moo certainly is)

Anyone knows what the HKS suction kit includes? Does it come with 2 intakes and 2 hardpipes or just one?

Mine had 2 intakes, 2 hard pipes, one long and one short, a rubber pipe, a stand to attach to the intercooler of solidity and 2 or 3 screw clips.

I have a photo at home of all the set. If I find it I will psot it.

I was looking at the HKS intake, but is it easy to uninstall the old one and install the HKS one?

Even a mechanical idiot should be able to swap out the stock air box for an aftermarket one without any problems. A large set of channel-locks helps with getting the clamps off the big intake hoses.
