Hks manifold (cast) vs full race (dual 44 wastegate)
I have the full Hks t04r kit it’s used but complete w wastegate and downpipe routed back in etc.
there’s a full race manifold w dual 44mm gate for sale.
any difference between the two? Probably have to have downpipe etc fabbed up if go that route.
difference meaning if it flows a lot better, faster spool up, and more so how does the sound differ if any?
gt35r vs t04r are they pretty similar around 350-450whp with decent spool up?

The HKS is going to spool up a good bit slower than the Full-Race manifold and the quality of the Full-Race is meant to last the lifetime of a vehicle without retaining heat against the block.
Let's take a step into the Turbo question, as that's your most prominent one of this thread:
#1 Where do you want your powerband to land? Expect a 3000-3500 RPM Width of "Sweetspot".
#2 What sort of engine porting do you have?
#3 Fueling?
#4 Ignition?
etc
TO4R has a 66.7mm inducer and a 84mm exducer Compressor Wheel (that flows 75lbs/min of Maximum Airflow) and 74mm P-Trim Turbine Wheel, and is significantly LARGER than a GT35R.
Not exactly a T04R, but the sizing is VERY comparable here and total air mass flow number is identical at 75lbs/min
GT35R 68mm Turbine Wheel, 64lbs/min Maximum Airflow
For 350whp on Pump Gas, go GT35R
For 425whp on Pump Gas, go T04R

Thank you for the reply!
i will probably stick w the Hks t04r kit then. On a supra 2jzgte the different exhaust manifolds make a good amount difference on the exhaust note.
i was just curious if that was the case for the fd as well or not? For the supra a cast manifold really doesn’t sound that good, as a tubular runner manifold.
i looked up a few videos of Hks t04z and it sounded pretty good and doesn’t sound much different than other fd manifolds?

I've had no problem cracking 450whp on Pump Gas (aggressive tune) with a GTX3582R, but I'm giving you reasonable values here based on your location and the air temp in the area being extreme (so the engine must be detuned as such).
You're focusing on sound profile which is going to be moreso from your manifold design and exhaust.
Full-Race is going to be a more pronounced, focused tone with excellent wastegate prioritization.
HKS is going to be dull/drowning noise and wastegate control is no where near as good.
Take a step back and focus on:
Engine Calibration and ECU Selection
Fuel System
Ignition System
V-Mount or Upgraded Intercooler/Radiator Setup
etc.
