HKS J-spec intake/ stock BOV
HKS J-spec intake/ stock BOV
hello ppl.
I've got the J-spec intakes and the stock BOV vents into the intakes. I've heared about the vent mod on the stock BOV. Which tube do i unplug? the one that goes into the intakes?

Yes you can pull off the hose that runs from the BOV into the intake but you also have to cap off the hole where the BOV hose goes into the intake (some will recommend against venting the BOV in this manner). However it’s basically going to sound the same unless it enters the intake at a weird/abrupt angle. Also venting the BOV to air and not through the intake could also potentially result in the BOV spitting out a fine mist of oil that could overtime result in that area of the engine bay getting pretty dirty.
Overall with an open air intake like the HKS J-spec unit (if I am assuming right, it is the unit with polished piping and yellow filters) you shouldn't hear any difference between the BOV vented straight out or vented into the intake. Unless there is a sharp angle somewhere. This was actually the case with my Greddy Airnix intake, made the BOV more quite than my old Blitz and RE intakes.
