HKS intake installed--> goose sound
I bought a HKS intake kit from a UK friend. Only thing not with the kit was the hos ecoming from the back/under the UIM with the damper attached to it.
I was warned by another friend, using thesame kit, that without this filter the engine would make a strange noise.. kinda like a goose.
Now it did.. not all of the time, but it did.
I went to tha auto shop and put on this small K&N filter. though the sound is much less I wondered if somebody made some home made damper ??
I looked op the part where the hose is coming from in my workshop manual and it seems to be some kind of air control for the secondary turbo.
Is there really any use for this part or only to be taken out/blocked off when going single?

When I installed a PF intake (over 10 years ago), I used a "small engine" (lawn tractor type) bullet-shaped muffler to reduce the sound.

HKS intake installed--> goose sound-> SOLVED!!!!
Ok guys I solved it!!!!
I just attached a small K&N oil pan relief filter to the tube coming from the back of the UIM. This will keep this strange noise down.
To make it completely go away, just take the filter back of and squeeze some extra airfilter foam in it or something spongy.
It took away pretty much all the noise and as this line is an "air-out" you don"t need to worry about the filter material being sucked into the engine.
