HKS FCD installation ??
Hi, I am trying to install a HKS Fuel Cut Defencer in a 1993 Rx-7.
All I am getting is bad hesitation when I put it in anything other than the "off" position.
The manual says to put the dial at "7" and put it in between the pressure sensor and the ECU.
I am not sure I have the right wire for the pressure sensor. The manual is pretty vague and it even looks incorrect to me. It says "pictures show wire side of the ECU connectors" but if that is the case, the connectors are shown in the wrong order ?!
I do get 12V on the red & black FCD wires so these are correct.
The two other wires on the FCD are for the input from pressure sensor and output to ECU.
I already got myself a second FCD because I doubted the working order of my 1st one but the 2nd does exactly the same.
I have also installed an HKS F-CON V (not the PRO), HKS Electronic Boost Controller, downpipe, cat-back and a HKS free flow intake and I do get fuel cut without the FCD (14psi). With the EBC at 11psi it doesn't get the chance to hit fuel cut but then I don't need the F-CON V.
Should I plug the FCD between the engine compartment and the F-CON or between the F-CON and the OEM ECU ?
Thanks !

I would put it in between the F-Con and the OEM ECU. So the FCD can stop the cut signal, or continue the fuel signal. I'm not sure how the ECU initiates fuel cut, but I'm sure the FCD goes closer to the ECU. All the FCD's I saw in Japan were hooked up that way. But most tuners over there go V-Pro so you don't see to many FCD's on 7's anymore. Hope this helps!
