I just bought the HKS dp, I haven't installed it yet but it weighs like 10-15 pounds I believe. I thought it would have been lighter but since the top of it is a specially made piece to fit the RX7 it is pretty heavy because it looks like a casted piece welded together.

I heard the best one is the M2 because of ease ot installion. It's also one of the most expensive. the HKS isn't stainless steel, but there is a great ceramic coating on it that makes it not rust. the HKS is one of the oldest DPs i think and still looks like the precat wehre it meets with the manifold. Not a great flowing design IMHO. Basically almost any stainless DP is good. I sold and shipped the HKS DP and it didn't weight more than 15 pounds.

The HKS doesn't come with anything, well thats how mine came. You have to buy the gaskets with any DP I believe.

I have a FEED DP and it fit awesome. They are the factory DP's for FD's in Japan I think. They are made to fit a RHD steering column so they easily fit up in the American FD. It is also thermal wrapped and that works awesome as well. My friend has an HKS DP and it is not rusted or anything yet but looks like it was a bitch to install.

I weighed my HKS on my Tanita scale and it read 11.5 lbs. Not sure how accurate a body scale is at that low a weight.

Dont tell me right hand drives and left hand drives require different downpipes. My FD is a japanese edition right hand(I live in pakistan) does that mean my FD already has a downpipe?

Well, RHD requires clearance for the steering column. The HKS provides it, or if you can get ahold of someone in Japan, there's a whole mess of SS downpipes available that have the "dent" in the upper portion to clear the steering column.

M2 and Pettit and all the other american dp's won't do you much good, unless you dont mind taking a sledgehammer to it to "form" it.

I think there is a Petitt one for $50 dollar on Ebay...i saw it a while ago meaning hours ago...I was told 3 inch is 3 inch as long it is stainless steal b/c of humidity of my area...if you get barely any rain then i guess go with a mild steal....but it is prone to rust.

<~~~~~~100th Yeah for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RHD can't use Pettit. I thought I just said that.

And I guarantee that Pettit pipe will not be $50 in 8 days.

Pettit is also good, the only pain I went through was the previous owner or mechanic had messed with the original pipe and every nut was a different size.

I've also just bought the HKS and have been told not to install it by FD Guru's without upgrading fuel pump first. Theory is, ditching the pre and main cat(even though you still use a high flow 3" cat) will over spool the turbo's and lean out the mix. Any feedback, experience, thoughts by other FD Guru's? Thanks Also, on the subject do the 3Gen O2 sensors carbon up or go bad on stock cars?
It seems like I'm getting fuel cut sometimes and my A/F rat. shows I'm still rich- is it a pressure issue? Thanks again this site is phenomenal on help and feedback, thanks again experienced FDer's

What mods do you currently have? You are safe to run a combination of 2 of either a downpipe, intake, or catback. Some people say you can run all three, however I like to err on the side of caution.

I have the HKS DP paired up with the HKS Carbon Ti and it's great. Spool up is much quicker as well as top end. The sound is badass......

Yeah, it's the one with the stainless steel piping with carbon fiber wrap on the canister and a flamed titanium tip that glows blue/purple...... Great exhaust..... I love HKS ****.........
