HKS bov

Ok I will start by saying I have search the forum for this but haven't found what I was looking for:

I just bought a HKS bov and installed it sometime ago. The thing is it doesn’t sound as much at all. It only sounds like broken blowoff valve from bosch. It sound more like the air is pressed out of the intake filter... blurr blurr blurr... instead of sprilffirrrrr hehe if u getting me right, it should sound more like a muttha...

My brother has one on is Subaru -01 wrx RS... and it sounds just right...

I installed mine on the same spot as the original one (left side of the engine compartment by the turbos).

Or do you think I should try to move it to the right side and plug the original hose? Or is the bov not tuned right? I've had it at several different adjustments but no change? Can the bov be broken?

Thanks

//Rick

You might want to check if you have a boost leak somewhere near the BOV. When I had a leaked my BOV didn't sound as loud as it suppose to be, but when I fixed the leak it had 2x the noise.

If there is a leakage? Can you see it on the boost gauge?

Is this bov you bought used or new? Is the insert inside the ssqv still purple? There are different inserts that produce different sounds fyi. Did you make sure the vac line running to the top of it is connected all the way back to the UIM? Moving it to another location will make no sound difference what-so-ever.

The thing is that I just finished a hosejob so everything is exchanged for blue silicone hoses... so all the hoses should be connected. The bov insert is silver (like an Y) I have the purple one too but I know how that one sounds like... What is the difference in putting it in different locations? Is it performance relative or just for show?

The car is running great but it could sound a little better

RICER yeye I know but the girls react to it...
