hitch/trailer install - pics
I recently placed an inquiry about this hitch (including a link to this thread) and got this emailed response explaining how to acquire it:
Thank you for contacting U-Haul about a hitch for your RX7. The hitch you found on the forum thread is actually a U-Haul built to order custom hitch. This hitch is fabricated in our production facility in Phoenix, Arizona, on a custom order basis. There is a 2-3 week lead time on this and prepayment is required. The cost on this hitch is $119.95 and this price would include standard FedEx ground delivery to the address of your choice.
The drawbar (3592) is $19.95, the ball (4904 - 1 7/8" or 4924 - 2") is $8.95, and the 13486 wiring kit is $16.95. All of these items are available for immediate shipment, or available at your local U-Haul store.
Please feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions and/or to place an order for this hitch.
Thanks,
Kris Bryant

Got mine done - thanks for the tips
The hitch attaches to the rear subframe with 2 bolts and the rear bumper with 5 bolts
You can do everything except the middle bolt on the rear bumper without cutting or removing anything, so that's how mine is attached. It's very sturdy
You can hook up the electrical portion of the trailer to the car without removing the tail lights. It can all be done from inside the trunk.
I've carried 2 x 275/35/18 and 2 x 255/35/18 Hoosiers on there for 4.5 hours journeys with no issues
My trailer and car together are also short enough that I don't need to pay extra when I take a ferry with it lol (under 20ft I believe was the requirement)
