Better reasons to choose an exhaust: sound, appearance.

That applies to most small n/a engines.

For a turbo car, a performance exhaust (3" catback) will def provide more than 1-2HP gain.

Unless your car is too low for them to get the mirror under

I got pulled over for the exhaust on my FD. (it had a muffled midpipe, with a stock cat cover off of a ford f150 tack welded over it. ) The cop nearly broke his neck trying to get his head arched just right to see the mirror.

he ended up giving me a ticket for having the car too low, lol. You can never beat those guys.

That is some funny **** man... hahaa you had me turn my monitor off and laugh. at that one!! A+

That is the most funniest thing I have ever heard..... When I put on my midpipe I am going to pull the cover off of my Catalytic converter and wrap it around my midpipe.... with a large 3" greddy catback.... that thing is going to be LOUD!!

I did this when I replaced my precat with my downpipe and I just started up the car with no exhaust. turbos were open to the world... I pulled off the rest of the exhaust and drove around the block at 20mph. You want to know loud... damn ungodly. I was glad to put the exhaust back together....

You pansy....... Try driving around town and to St.Louis without an exhaust.

People literally cover their ears as you pass by them.

I started it up tonight again (trying to source an oil leak) and within a few minutes I had 2 different neighbors yelling at me to get a muffler. Can't beat a bridgeport idling at 1500 RPMs with no exhaust..... Other bad thing about DP only is that my cabin filled up with exhaust smoke in 1.2 seconds, I couldn't breathe.

HAHA, yeah, i think i am going to go the LUPE route and go out the side right behind the front passenger side wheel or try a straight turn down and see how long it takes to fill the car with exhaust. Car is also gutted for the most part so loud is the least of my concerns
