High rpm cutout?

I noticed while doing a quick 180 without having to use reverse, if you know what i mean, that once it hit around redline it just cut out and the rpms drop to almost idle but if i keep it around 7k it does fine. It never cuts out if im hitting redline around town, only when the tires are spinning wether it be off the line or doin the 180 thing. Has anyone experienced this b4. Thank to all who reply

An educated guess: When you're spinning tires, in those cases, you don't have to momentum of the car to keep the drivetrain from spinning down.

There is a rev limiter that cuts power abruptly at 8300 RPM on the stock ECU. But it won't drop down to idle if you keep your foot on the gas (I'm not recommending this, but it happens ) the RPMs will drop a little bit (a few hundred RPMs) and then full power is back.

Another possibility is that you uncovered the fuel pick-up in the gas tank by sloshing the gas around. That can be very bad for the car because you'll run lean when it happens. That should only happen below half a tank of gas.
