cloud of smoke, now boost fixed!?!

So, I've been having boost issues with my twin-seq (48,000 miles) system for 6 weeks or so with it getting slowly worse I have a PFC, AVCR and blitz Nur exhaust.

Well, today, I conceded that the turbo's are rubber ducked! Primary turbo boost to .8 bar (albeit slowly), but after transition boost dropped to .3 - .4 bar On the bright side, gas mileage improved

Anyway, so I had convinved myself the secondary turbo was knackered, and would give it a last sideways blat down the street. I'm in second gear, boost to .8, hit the transition, boost drops to .4, then pop!!! I see a big puff of grey smoke (and think the worst) in the background and I'm off at mach 15 again!!

So, what was the problem. Is it possible for the secordary turbo to cease and cause this kind of boost issue?

Do I still need to think about new turbos (or turbo )

Damn, I forgot the car goes so well

Thanks for listening!

Happy Chappy

sounds like some kind of carbon build up. do you change the oil every 1,500 miles . if not you should.. these cars can carbon lock. now that the turbos are working change the oil, coolant, and spark plugs.and take the car for a nice freeway drive. this may help.

I change the oil and coolant every 3k at the mo. Also haven't changed the plugs since I've had it (5 months).

Will start doing that... cheers Jeff
