High/Low tach readings

It seems I am running 500-1000 high(3500@80mph) or low (2400@80)! This is a new problem, what the heck is going on with my 93 3rd gen.

I was about to make some smartass comment about someone swapping in 4.30 gears in the rear when you weren't looking, then saw the 2400 at 80 part

Weird problem--never heard of it before. Prolly electrical, perhaps bad wiring or sending unit. Bust out your shopmanual and multimeter and go to town
