Unhappy high idling, wuts wrong ?

I have had this problem for awhile and don't know what to do. I redid my vacuum hose and when I put it all back together it idles fine when its cold but when it warms up it idles about 1400-1800 rpm's.
What is the problem and how can I fix it? I adjusted all the screws and nothing. Please help.

There are a lot of threads about the miriad of things that could be the cause. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find the correct answer to the problem. One quick thing I'd ask is if you replaced the intake manifold gasket when you did the hose job? If not, how old was it? That could be the problem. Also, did you tighten the bolts starting in the center and moving outwards in direction? That probably isn't the problem but it might help. Good Luck with the search

I had a similar problem and I had just connected the throttle cable to tightly. Make sure there is enough slack in the throttle cable for it to idle properly.

Mine is high too, 1500 rpm. And with my lights on it is steady, with them off it hunts. There are countless things that could cause it. After about three months I'm only halfway throgh the list of "to checks". Check the obvious first. I've heard a lot of people replacing their wax rod and having it fixed. Or the UIM gasket also can cause it. If all else fails, check the idle control solenoids(AWS, ISC, and some others ) as instructed in the manual. (last on my list) But it really helps to really look into the manual, then start checking things one by one.
