fwiw, you can put a Davies Craig 150 electric water pump in the supply hose between the radiator and the mechanical pump to amp up the flow considerably, but can then argue to use it by itself as well

you won’t gain much with the impeller change, but it won’t hurt anything
.

I'm aware, just interested in his science behind it.
I've seen piston engine discussions about "the cooler the coolant (65-75C) the hotter the oil (105-125C) the better" and wondered if it applies to our rotaries.

I've had my REmedy pump in the car since about May 2009 with no issues. I've been thinking about swapping it purely based on it's age, but I'm worried I'd be removing a pump that might be good for years to come and put on one that will fail sooner.

I suppose a Renesis is a different animal, but it made no difference at all on it and it was the same basic OE impeller Mazda did upgrade the OE impeller on the later 2009+ S2 version though.
