High flow cat with no airpump???
I just recently purchased a 3inch high flow catalyic converter ( rx7store.net ), and it doesn't have the passage for the stock airpump connection? I was wondering if it would be okay running this Cat without the airpump connected, or do i risk ruining it and clogging it up???
Thanks
Thanks

The cat will run cooler without injected air which may help the longevity of the cat. Most modern catalitic converters are efficient enough they don't need extra oxygen. Many FD owners have been running aftermarket cats without air injection for some time and some have lasted quite a while. The ones that failed quickly are more than likely because the cat was made cheap or the tune was making the exhaust temps too high. I think the whole clogging cat without air injection may be voodoo science. I was confident enough to run my aftermarket cat without air injection and have had no problems so far but it's still less than 10k miles but looks fine.
