High crankcase pressure after rebuild

Hello everyone.

Was wondering if anyone had experienced high crankcase pressure after rebuild?

Basically I have posted before and found amazing help from you guys, that my fd was having bad smoke problems under load and under boost after having a professional shop rebuilding my engine.
the car has power fc and still with twins and nothing was re used from the engine, like oil control rings, coolant seals etc, all was changed.

After having sometime to work on the car we decided to remove the oil cap and try it out and finally the smoke had stoped.
It still has the pcv valve and seemed that it was not clogged or stuck but still we will now vent.

What I would like to ask if anyone had experienced this after having there engine rebuild when basically having same setup with no smoke before?
Cause still worried that something might not be right and causing excessive build up pressure.

Practically nothing. towed the car to the tuner but it was smoking like crazy on the dyno, and a couple of times up and down the road cause I would definitely have been pulled over.

If the smoke stopped with the oil cap off then you have excessive crank pressure. Install a catch can. One line off the oil neck and one from the rear oil return. Don't rely on the stock pcv

That is the plan.

mostly my question is to why would it build excessive crankcase pressure and not before when having the same setup as before?

Could the higher compression make an effect?

Or could it be something was not done right? As to my worry…

Thanks.

Not necessarily.... after you put the catch can in, you can install a sensor to monitor the pressure but I really wouldn't think about it. You'll end up looking for an issue that really isn't there. Install the catch can and press on with life
