hey anyone if its easy to remove air intake box??
hey bros, i'am thinking of cleaning and checking my air filter in my 3rd gen, is it easy to do by yourself?? what should i look for if my paper filter needs to be replaced and do i have to remove all the hoses attatched to the box or should i just remove the one on the right hand side of the box by the intercooler.

You'll have to play with it a bit - I remember I had to remove only a hose or two to facilitate easy removal. While you're at it, ditch the crappy compression clamps on teh hoses! I HATE those things. At the very least, get some worm drive clamps from the auto parts store.

Yes, it sucks....big time!
I always take all of the hoses off....it is simply much easier that way.
Only my Audi Quattro I had was worse, you actually had to remove the fuel injection rail/manifold to GET to the airbox, and then it was a pain because it had these snap clamps from hell you had to try to manipulate........
Personally, I leave the spring clamps on the intake side, they are much quicker to remove than a worm drive clamp. I won't have them on anything on the pressurized side, of course.....
