hesitation and power loss
hesitation and power loss
So to start off I do have the 3-4k rpm hesitation problem and have pretty much had it since i have had the car, which I know is a common problem. But at 4,500rpm i goes away and under WOT it just throws you back and pulls to redline. Now the problem I am having is that i changed the plugs because mine got so fouled up to the point where I could no start my car. So I changed the plugs and it fired up right away. The problem I have been having ever since is that i still get the hesitating problem but its seems a bit worse and now when i hit 4,500rpm i feel a complete power loss up to redline. feels like the 2nd turbo does not kick in. what confuses me about this is I still get a 10-8-10 boost pattern. I have seen it spike to 13-14psi before but it could also be that i don't have the most expensive gauge right now. I have searched this problem but everyone's seems to be a bit different so Im hoping someone can have some good tips. If there is anything you need me to test for I will. I also have an Air/fuel gauge, not a wide band yet. It does read very rich which it always has. I am just hoping that you guys can help me out because either way i look at it Im still new to the rotory engine and I know you guys know your stuff
First off, the 3000 RPM hesitation won't go away. It's a bug with the stock ECU, the only way for it to completely go away is with a PowerFC. Adding a ground from the negative terminal to the chassis can *help*, but it will still be there.
If you're having power loss up top, it could be something with the turbo control door. If it doesn't open, you'll lose top end power bigtime.
Also, a cheap AF gauge is worthless. It won't tell you anything important.
Hit up some of the new owner stuff and read through. If you're getting spiking on a stock ECU you need to do something about that.

Ya ive been doing as much reading as I can and ill keep looking. Does anyone have any ideas of anything i can take a look at in the car that might cause these problems. I understand the 3,000rpm hesitation is a common problem and that one will not bother me. Its the lack of power right when it feels like the 2nd turbo should kick in at 4500rpm. I have made sure there is no leaking pipes but it still feels like im running off no boost and it sometimes sounds like im just venting all the boosted air
