HELP Y-pipe

I just installed the efini y-pipe and what I thought was a complete install... the blow off valve is now blowing air out at idle! What could cause this? I replaced three hoses with new hoses from plenum, one to the y-pipe itself, one to the charge valve and a little one in the same region. Did I **** up the hoses? WHat could it be please help!!

Thanks

The stock bov opens at 4 inchs vacuum, so it is open at idle ( 16 inches or so ) untill you open the throttle and the vacuum goes below 4 inches .Below 4 inches and under boost it is closed . When you shut the throttle at speed the vacuum goes way up and the valve opens to releave the pressure so the turbos will not slow down as much . So at idle you are wasting air . If you change the spring so the valve is closed at idle the tip in and low rpm power is better .And yes this has been done and the results are positive . Several people have modified valves and report that the improvement is noticeable .

I mean the air is really whooshing out of the tube. I have never seen this or heard it before. I guess my question is could I have placed a hose in the wrong spot?

Make sure you have the smaller vacuum line going from the UIM to the BOV as well. There should be 2 lines into the BOV (and 2 lines into the CRV as well).

Mine was open at idle as well. I think that's normal.
