Help. What are these hoses/plugs?

I've got everything assembled back together but im not sure what this actual plug is for, and what these two hoses are for. I was thinking the plug (in red) is for the knock sensor, and the two hoses (in green) are both going to the smaller of the black plastic boxes.

Thanks for the help.....

Of the two loose hoses, the hose that curls around behind the vertical one, it goes to your pressure tank. The other one looks to be the top hose coming from the purge control solenoid ergo that one goes to the catch tank located under the intake elbow.

The plug I cannot help you with because I cannot tell what color it is. If it is not blue (which I am fairly sure it is not), I suspect it goes to one of the sensors down behind the coolant filler neck. If it is blue, then it is just a test plug.

By the way, there should be another hose with a check valve coming off of the Y-pipe that connects to the other nipple on the pressure tank. I do not see that in your picture and I assume that's because it is either pulled to the passenger side or away with the pressure tank.

The connector is black, and it has a yellow insert. That connector is extended as far *** it will go, so something has to come to it.

Is it the plug to the purge control solenoid, which is just behind it toward the driver's side maybe two inches? It plugs in just above the hose that goes to the catch tank.

The PCS is already hooked up. You can see there are two wires traveling right by the one I've circled. That solenoid is also a 2 prong i believe, where that plug is only a 1 prong

It *could be the PS pump, BUT...i dont remember having to remove the alternator to unclip the PS pump connector. If I install the alternator right now, I dont see how I'd be able to access that connector

The plug looks like it's for the fan switch, which is on the back of the water pump housing below the green ECU water temp sender. I'd check there first.

The hoses are very likely for the black plastic pressure tank. I would HIGHLY recommend ditching those stock Mazda hoses for some good silicone vacuum lines - you're gonna have constant pop-off problems otherwise.

Hrm

I have all 3 of the coolant related connectors hooked up. There is a 1 wire plug going to the sending unit, and 2 plugs for what im not sure. I know one of the plugs IS a 1 wire, but I've already hooked that particular plug up. I guess I should clarify......that plug is going NOWHERE it has no play in the wire from where it spawns out of the harness. Its not going to extend anywhere, the male part of the connector (that connects to it) HAS to come to it, not the other way around

Regarding the hoses, I'll agree. I use hosetechnique stuff on my Z, but this guy (if you havent figured it out, this ISNT my car!) just wants to get the motor in and sell the car unfortunately. I have Ziptied many of the hoses on the underside of the intake and the hard to reach ones, just so they wont come off. BTW-Anyone interested in an 94 Touring/Auto with 42k original miles and an Atkins Ported/Polished setup?

I know for a fact one of those hoses (the larger inner diameter one) goes to the catch tank that leads to the charcoal cannister. I remember taking it off so I could move the catch tank out of the way while I was dissasembling some things. One problem solved

It seems as thought I'm figuring this stuff otu on myown, but I'll keep posting information just in case anyone else runs into this problem. Here is a diagram from the FSM, and I think we found our problem. It appears to meet an outside sourced wire (such as the PS pump or something.) At least I know it doesnt belong somewhere internally in the engine
