Help w/drivers side map compartment rattle
The little compartment at the drivers elbow on the door, the lid is rattling like crazy now that I put in new speakers. And I know what you are thinking, but it not some booming system, just 5.25 speakers in the doors and 5x8 in the rear. And 45 watts going to each, not a lot. Even though the bass is still FAR from good, it rattles that little door. Anyone else have this problem, and how did you fix it??

That door has a notched cam on it. There's a leaf spring with a plastic tip on it that keeps it put when it's closed.
Try bending that leaf spring to pre-tension it -- but do not tension it too much. If the plastic feels like it's stressing, it'll snap.
Mine fuggin broke in 2 places. The dowel on the door snapped off. I replaced it with a screw, had the rattling problem, overtensioned the spring and snapped the plastic around the hole the dowel is held in by.
I ended up rebuilding that hole with a small strip of sheetmetal. It's worked well though.
