not trying to hijack or anything, but DAMN that avatar is evil Dpasseto.. mmm WW

Good luck with your reassembly, I hope everything goes well. I have personally used a sock before as a temporary airfilter on my other car, but ziptied the hell out of it around the turbo inlet tube

Let me know how the turbos hold out!

No offence, but I hope the turbos die soon!

Well, not really ... but let me know how they last. I have a feeling the dealer was giving me a crock when he told me they needed replacing. The do have 60K on them ... I'm sure they are somewhat worn, but I have a feeling that they would’ve lasted another 20K easy ...

my car is F&*&))%$ed up allready!

I have a blown o-ring / water seal.

Anyone care to donate a FD motor in good working order?

I'm going to pull the motor in two or three weekends, time permitting. After that it's off to Pineapple Racing.

Hmm ... anyone care to add comments about Pineapple Racing to this thread. I haven't had many replies (with actual purchases from Pineapple). I think that the thread is a great reference and would like to add some more feedback to it. Of course it would also make me feel good about sending my motor to another state.

No worries ... I'm going to make a road trip (CA to OR)out of it. Well at least for the delivery ... I'll have the motor shipped back. When it's all over, I'll feel like I know all there is to know about my car.

Hmm ... I'll have a mild street port to boot ... zoom zoom ... :-)

good stuff...glad to hear nothing went past the IC. we all do stupid things sometimes (i always forget 2 things, the OMP rod to the TB, and a vac line to the IC on my 88 10AE).

those twins look like they weigh a ton (speaking from experience of pulling the turbo from my engine...that thing is pretty hefty.)

Water is a liquid. What harm could it do to pour it into the engine?

Fluids like water are largely incompressable.

93BlackFD, how's the car doing now? What's you're current setup? Just outta curiosity...

EDIT: Just looked up sig in your profile. I thought you had a Gotham 1/2 bridge! " 93BlackFD built motor with Gotham Racing Stage 4 port, all the bolt ons, 34 row Mocal, Steve Kan tuned"

On a side note, one thing I picked up from this thread and def. liked was James Paventi's step by step engine pull and reinstall thread, and the pics are still up!!!: https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=152636 Never seen him post (prob no longer here) but he seems to have quite a few good threads posted (see his sig).

Maybe he decided to keep it or I was thinking of somebody else, though I could have sworn he posted on here or nopistons about selling parts of his motor off and putting a stock engine in the car and selling it.
Oh and Tim, you need to update Jim's post count!
