hey guys

i have notices when i get into the high rpm's my turbo starts to houl and scream. Its only when i am above about 5000 rpm. I have an auto. So that doesn't happen to often cuz the rev limiter doesn't me me rev that high anyways. But when i am using the hold buttin and revving the motor real high, it happens a lot. Also i am not losing Boost, i am getting pretty good boost readings. Also i notices that my DP gets glowing red after a short run, which leads me to believe my cat is clogged. Would a clogged cat be the problem. Is it cuz the turbo's are gasping for air? Someone Heplp...I am mad paraNOid.

 

Clogged cat. I wouldn't drive it. The heat and backpressure are going to toast your turbo bearings, if the damage has not already been done.

 

this is what happens in my car. I also get good boost readings. but it screams like its going crazy in the upper RPM ranges. I've concluded that my second turbo is going bad (122,000K on original turbos), since I've check and replaced all things that may cause this type of noise. As a side note, my rotary mechanic said that my main cat may be clogged, like you said.

 

I will be changing the main cat with a friends cuz he's gettin a midpipe soon, so we'll see what happens then. Hopefully my turbo isn't friend cuz this just started happening a lil while ago...I think its just my Turbo's trying to breath...
