HELP ! trying to narrow down my boost problem

ok so after 2 years its up and running again with full exhaust and aggressive ported reman... no other mods and a pfc on the way

Im not trying to beat on it but the couple of times i got on it to see if it was boosting correctly it sometimes will reach 5lbs, iand when it hits 5 lbs it seems the second turbo will whistle but no boost

what could eb causing this ??? I do have an exhaust leak somewhere (havent pinpointed it yet) could that be the cause ?

any suggestions...

THanks,

Scott

No, exhaust leaks won't cause boost problems. They will make for a ricey sound, but that's about all.

The whistle may be coming from one of the intake piping couplers - remove the 2.5" rubber couplers, roll them around in your fingers to try and reveal any cracks or cuts. Also turn them inside out and repeat. Check every one between the y-pipe and throttle body elbow. Make sure you don't overtighten any band clamps or else the pinching action will cause tears.

Also make sure you have the Y-pipe flanges bolted up tight to the turbo housing. Being as you experience noise with the secondary turbo, check those flange bolts (the ones to the rear end of the Y-pipe) especially close. These are hard to see and you may need to remove the input piping to see them clearly.

use a boost controller independet of the pfc, see if that works if not start cheking vacume lines could be a popped line or busted solenoid.
