HELP! Stupid air box question...

I feel like an idiot for not being able to re-attach the hoses to my damn air box... maybe I'm doing it wrong (I bet I'm just an idiot )

The picture below (sorry, it's a bmp - I don't have photoshop installed on this computer, so it was made in MS Paint :p) is of the large hoses that go into the air box & the rubber seals that keep the hoses on...

Should the hose go:
A) around the entire rubber thing (the seal)
B) go in between the two parts of the rubber thing (this is the way I figured it would be)
C) in between the plastic and the rubber seal, in other wrods, under the rubber thing completely

It seems unusally difficult to get the bottom of the two large hoses re-attached.

And... should the bottom hose have a spring clamp (mine doesn't)?

thanks

The answer is B.
I don't think there is supposed to be a hose clamp, mine never had one to or bottom. Just those rubber seals.

I always find it easier to put the "rubber thing" onto the intake hose, and then put the unit onto the airbox. Notice that there are cutouts in the rubber adapter that match protrusions on the airbox, the rubber adapter has to fit into these. And yes, you should have a clamp there, it is one place where the factory spring clamps are the best to use.

I just took a good close-up pic if you want me to e-mail it to you....

Thanks! I kinda figured it was B, but, damn, it's a PITA to get to.

I'll try the putting the seal on first idea tomorrow.
