Help!.Strange third gear problem, Let me explain.

Greetings all,

I have a strange little problem with my FD.

Ok let me explain:

-First Gear at WOT: Pull strong with no problem

-Second Gear at WOT: Pull strong with no problem

-Third Gear At WOT: The car pull strong up to 5500 RPM
But I notice a little but noticable power loss up to redline. ???

I have no boost leak on the car and I run a PFC at .95 KG with a Brand new Bonez cat and Apex GT Cat Back.
I have also a Denso Racing fuel pump with a new
fuel filter so That Can't be the problem. My engine and
turbo are A1.

-I run the stock intercooler but only push the car on fresh night or day.

Can it be my Injectors Duty (96 %)????

I have this problem only in third gear. That's very strange.

Any idea guys??

Thanks
Serge

I just recently had the same kind of problem
myself..

I believe its my Injector duty cycle. It peaked out at
99.3% which is way to high.. Probably running overly
rich as I am..

I plan on tuning some fuel out and adding a ignition
amp. Hopefully it will work..

good luck

Thanks for the input. Do you thing I can solve the problem by reducing my PIM voltage a a specific
RPM?

Thanks again

I have no idea.

If I remember correctly isnt the PIM used to
change to Differnet Map sensors???

If so not gonna work.. Only way to reduce injector
cyclee is to Tune out Fuel or upgrade your injectors.

Let meknow what you find out. A quick fix would be
nice.

serge1,

Start with the simple things. How old are your spark plugs and your spark plug wires?

If your car is holding boost and it doesn't "feel" as fast according to your butt dyno then I would suggest hoping on a real dyno to see what's exactly going on. Then you can determine how you're losing power.

Are the RPM's going up but you're not gaining speed? Clutch slipping? Tom
