Exclamation HELP - Rough Idle - Stalling - But No Exhaust Smoke (Not MAP Sensor)

I just got my midpipe installed. Now the idle is really strange. The symptoms are pretty much identical to when the MAP sensor is disconnected, but it is connected and there's no smoke coming from the exhaust. Anyone know what it could be? My mechanic is in Disney.

I know when I unflooded my engine a while ago, the idle was strange for a while after. Is it normal for an FD to have rough idle for a while after surgery?

My mechanic also fixed my turbos (I was only boosting about 3 psi before) and my A/C, so a lot of stuff was off the car. Anyone else have similar problems after extensive work? Should I be concerned, or should it return to normal after a while?

Is your airpump still hooked up?

neevosh is right, a lot of people who disconnect the air pump have problems with idle and low speed operation. The air pump supplements the intake air at low rpm and idle situations.

BTW, how are you controlling boost? full open exhaust + stock ecu = risky.

Yeah, I know it's risky, but I'm not getting on the boost untill I get the PFC.

About the airpump...it's not connected, but it hasn't been for over a year now. Never gave me problems before. I'll reconnect it though, to see what happens. I just hate that weird growling sound .

I reconnected the airpump and it idled fine at startup but seemed to get worse as the car got hotter.

By chance did you remember to re-attach the ground wire that is back there? Sometimes grounding issues will cause some crazy results.

My car's been running and idleing fine for a while now. It wasn't the airpump...I think it was the fact that the car had just had some work done to it...that's all I can think of. I mentioned earlier that whenever I have work done on my car (engine wise), it idles weird for a few days, then goes back to normal. I don't have the airpump connected and the idle is fine @~750-1000rpms, with no more stalling. Maybe it's just my car Strange how no one else notices this behavior on their car after it's worked on.

Oh well, thanks for the input guys.

the reason it idles weird right after its worked on is because your ECU is recalibrating itself after having its memory erased. i find it best to go for a high speed highway cruise after clearing the ECU memory to get the quickest and most stable idle results.
