HELP! Rex dead!

Damnit. my car died. I was cruising on the interstate at about 60. (believe it), and all of a sudden, without warnging, my 94 rx7 just died. I coasted off the bridge and tried to start it. It turns over, but never starts and runs. I know I've got compression (I can feel it out of the exhaust), but it won't ever start. Battery is okay. I guess fuel pump or ignitor? Any suggestions?

thanks in advance!

No. The red one I am selling to fix this one and mod it up. I was looking for an rx7, then ended up buying two. THe blue one (the broekn one) is modded and i love it. THe red one I am selling to go with a single turbo, upgraded fuel, etc.

Now I am selling the red one to hopefully fix this one....

I will keep the 94 over the 93...... if i can get it running again....

crap. someone ran a compression test and they said there was almost "no" compression.

Does that mean I need a new engine?

Any ideas where i can get one?

You might have someone else run a compression test on it, just to make sure. Otherwise, rebuild time. Talk to Pettit Racing:

http://www.pettitracing.com

or Pineapple Racing

http://www.pineappleracing.com

(or a few others) about getting a rebuild.

Just wondering, how do you just lose all your compression just like that? Is this normal for rotary?

Maybe a safe call?

okay. Pep Boys (YUCK I KNOW.. only place open at 8pm and i used to work there....) ran teh test. I think they were full of ****. Last month the car ran at 8.5psi. Anyway, I think it may be a bad battery and alternator....... Any other ideas. Could it be that simple? (will throw a new battery in it tomorrow and see if it cranks. Oh please rotary gods, let it crank right up!)

See, I was about to throw a single turbo, begger injectors and pump and some nos on it. Now, i may have to put in an engine instead. we'll see, i guess.

THanks for all of your help, guys!

i doubt it is your alternator or compression. it's probably a loose connection somewhere. if you have a turbo timer, check your connections to make sure everything is good. if the ignition wire is cut then the car will turn over but not fire resulting in your symptoms.

hmmm. Is there any way you know of checking that? Or of bypassing the switch and testing it to see if it's cut somewhere? Thanks. That may be just it, because I do have a turbo timer installed, and it does funny things sometimes. (like the tach and speedo don't work)...

i would just look at the connection between the timer and the harness see if there are any extra wires. something probably came undone and it just need to be crimped or soldered together again. take a look where the timer wires goto and tell us what you see.
