Angry Help, replaced engine, but fuel injectors leak, ENGINE FOR SALE 35K

After months of trying to figure out why my car smoked very badly after long trips, poor idling at stops, sputtering sounds in the exhaust, and finally engine would not start because of flooding. So what appeared to me like I needed a new engine, and some bad advice from some others, I replaced the engine without proper diagnostics. After putting in my street port engine, the mechanic sadly informed me that he thinks it was the injectors leaking the whole time and not the engine.

Since im already up **** creek, what kind of injectors should i use? should i stay stock at 550/850? My mods are HKS cold air intake, 3" Greddy exhaust. Everything else is pretty well stock. Should i upgrade to 550/1300 or would that give me poor fuel mileage for no reason? The fuel pump is stock too. Do i have to upgrade the pump if i upgrade the injectors?

On another note, my car only has 35k original miles. The engine has nothing wrong with it , so instead of paying my core charge for the street port engine I will SELL THE 35K ENGINE. The core charge is $900, so i am accepting all offers over that price. Someone is gonna have a nice low mileage 13btt, because i'm an idiot and replaced it send all offers to my email at chrishuffman5@hotmail.com

Wow, you think your mechanic would have talked you through some things so you didn't make such major mistakes.

If your ECU and fuel pump are stock, you have to keep stock size injectors, which are all you'll need for your use anyway. Just send them out to RC Eng for a good reconditioning (which should have been done when the motor was pulled!).

Personally, if your mechanic didn't advise you of these things and just did the work, I would most definitely change mechanics.

EDIT: BTW, I wouldn't expect severe problems from 35k mile injectors. And why the hell wasn't a compression check done on the original motor before pulling it? Unless there is another side to the mechanic's story, I think you got majorly ripped off and I wouldn't go there again.

Thanks rynberg. Yes it is a big mess, but it was actually another mechanic that told me otherwise, and when i took it to Mazda they told me it was the water pump which is totally off. Anyways how do i get in contact with RC eng?

http://www.rceng.com/

I'm sure there are several other FI shops around the country that could do it, but RC does a lot of FD injectors.
