radiator protection

Over the winter I removed my A/C, added some tight radiator ducting, and opened up the mouth of the car (NTech shark mod). All this worked wonders for cooling issues, but now, after several weekends at the track and a few hundred miles of highway driving, my shiny Koyo is getting the crap beat out of it!

So I'm wondering about mesh to cover the grill. I know that adding a screen or mesh will restrict airflow, so I'm looking to larger mesh... but that will let the bb-sized rocks through, and they're what seems to do the most damage... *sigh*

Can anyone recommend a mesh or grill they've had good success with - some "happy medium"?

I suppose that A/C condensor served a purpose after all

Hexcel composite. Although I am always the one to suggest an impractical solution. I do have access to some, if you want to be exotic. Otherwise, plain aluminum or aluminized steel expanded metal works well. I recommend spraying it flat black, otherwise it will look like rice.
