Help Regarding TPS
Well i need serious help regarding the tps. i have a volt meter and trued setting it. I use the ground on the battery and the i get perfect readings on extreme clockwise position but there the car starts to hunt for idle and runs like crap. later i checked by attacthing the meters ground on the body and i got very low readins on that setting. i know my problem is tps related as my at differant positions my hesitation and back firing problem changes
can someone please guide me on where to attach the ground of the volt meter when checking the readinds and exactly what to do like close the a/f screw and stuf like that. the guide i found on this site is insuficeint for me and no detailed enough for someone as stupid as me . My car idles perfect but when in gear it runs like crap in high rev with lots of back firing. I fixed the problem some days ago by test driving and adjusting a little but i was to stupid the tighten the bolts and its out again . one more thing car is a 1994 touring with a kaki moto catback and rest is all stock compression and starting are perfect and so is the idling. only problem is the back firing while driving and one more thing its and auto
THanks A Million in advance
Thanks A million in advance

The TPS connector has four pins. The ground used by the TPS is the pin on the bottom, I believe. It will have a brown wire with black stripe, if you can see the unwrapped part of the wire. (If it's not the bottom, it's the one on the top). Compare that to your battery ground.

Now that most of us use the PFC computer which will display both TPS voltages, most have forgot the old way which I wrote up a long time ago.
Go to http://www.fd3s.net/tps_adjustment.html.
Some TPS are secured with with Phillips head bolts instead of the 7mm hex head bolts like mine were. These might require removing the complete throttle body in order to lossen them. If so, replace with hex head bolts for the future.
In stead of warming up the engine to disengage the hot wax rod fast idle cam, you can manually disengage it by pressing down on the lever.
Noting else has to be adjusted for the TPS unless the idle itself is way off normnal adjustment. My tuning notes give detail instructions on how to adjust the complete throttle body along with pictures. PM for more info on my notes.
