Help! Overheating!

Its about 97 degrees in Tampa today and i had to go to the dmv....for about the first 25 minutes i drive my car its flawless and runs almost perfect... then the temps start to rise the idle goes down and it starts to stall... i hit 109 Celsius and as i was pulling into my house the car shut off... the stock temp gauge reads right in the middle.

I just recently had a koyo n-flow rad and a greddy 2 row fmic installed... when i first got the car back the coolant light and the buzzer was on.. i topped it off, the next day it was on again.. this happened for a few days... there was no coolant anywhere i could see and my mechanic said it was because the radiator was so big it took a while to get the coolant all the way through it... well when the temps were at 109 today the light came on for a good 3 seconds and then shut off..

So if you guys could give me any advice as to what it could be hopefully ill be able to get it on the road again! Thx -Eric

109C is not overheating. It's hot no doubt, but not overheating. I would recommend burping the cooling system then run the car with the heater on full.

A Fmic Will Increase Ur Coolant Temp A Lil Because Its Blocking Airflow To The Radiator.. I Have A Fmic And My Temps Varies From 90c To 102c...i Dont Seem To Have Any Problem..

You Might Be Loosing Coolant Internally So Just Pressure Test The System.... If U Loose Pressure Then It Could Be A Coolant Seal..

Your coolant seals are fine. Follow mahjik's advice---there's probably air in the system, especially if your pfc reads 109 and your stock temp gauge stays in the middle.

Also, do you have the 97 degree (C) thermoswitch rather than the stock (106 degree IIRC). . .or the fan mod? If not, fans are not going on high speed until 106 degrees! Makes a big difference pulling air through the Koyo!

Do you use your a/c in the summers? If not, you can pull the a/c relay out from under the hood, and when you turn the a/c button on, your fans will run on high (but obviously the a/c won't work).

Rich, will that make them run on high, or just one notch higher than if the A/C button is not pushed (i.e., medium until the thermoswitch trips at 106c)?

Sorry I can't be definitive here. My idle does get a little wierd (hunts a little on occassion) when I push 100C, but it has never stalled
