help, no boost but hear turbos spooling

I just got my car back and on the way home from the shop I heard a "pop" from the passenger side and then I got no boost. I'm going to call the shop tomorrow, but wanted to see if was an easy fix so I don't have to take it back. I hear the turbos spooling, but no boost. Did I bust the y-pipe or a hose? I checked the map sensor ...it's ok.

OK ill try

Intercooler pipe popped off, or the coupler from the Y-pipe to the IC Inlet tube (flat black tube) was breached

yeah... what he said... it's probably pretty a pretty obvious one too...

I forgot to tighten up the hose going to the intake elbow the other day and as soon as I got on it... POP! and no boost...

good thing all it took was a screwdriver to fix and she was all business after that!

It has to be in the intake line. PULL OFF!! the coupler from the Y-Pipe to the IC's and check for cracks. You might not see it while its on the car.

Hope it helps,
Chris

That would definetely help. More than likely you popped the coupling at the Y-pipe and crossover tube. Like someone mentioned you may not be able to notice it while it is on the car. Take this coupling off and look at it closely (pull and stretch it while inspecting it)

Exactly, it probably is the coupling, 10$ if not less. I would go with a silicone replacment so it wont happen again.

I like what i read on the forum once:
Take a wet/dry vac, stick it in 1 of the intake pipes, plug up all the other hoses that connect to the intake with tennis *****, etc. Set that thing on blow and listen/feel for where the leak is.

You might find it there, I didnt, we have some shitty pepboys and advance though. You can order offline or since PFS was right next to my house I went up there and got one. You could also try any performance auto shop. Make sure its the problem before you get it though.

FYI, I took it to the shop and found out that it was a stuck prespool actuator.

Not doubting you or anything but woudln't a suck pre-control actuator give you a boost pattern more like 10-3-8?
