HELP! need some prices to fight Insurance
Ok as you all know the car was stolen and my Ins is trying to screw me.
I need some prics from anyone who has bought or got quotes.
What does a Mazda remanufactured motor cost? The block if i was to buy one.
New Transmission?
Turbos?
Basically what i'm getting at is the put the value of my Engine/Transmission at $2,250......
We all know that is bs cuz he is just clumping things all together and forgeting that there are the turbos, altinator, water pump, power steering pump, smog pump(ahah) and all the other stuff like injectors etc that make the car run.
I need more info!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks it does help a bit but i nees stock mazda dealership prices....i know how much it cost to rebuild etc....but i need prices like if your motor, trnny and turbo got stolen too.

Reman motor is about $2300 retail plus $1000 core charge since you don't have it, Twin Turbos are around $3000 retail with no core, Transmission probably not available through dealers. Last priced around $3000+ new. I don't think dealers can get used/reman trannys. Used tranny can be had for around $750. Intakes and miscellaneous stuff can add up to a considerable amount also.
Tell them you want it the way it was before the incident. You are entitled to it. If they say they can get it for $2250, then tell them to get it for you and tell them you want a second one at that price because you could make a lot of money on it. Don't forget you need to add installation on the components. I called local mazda dealer about 2 years ago and it was around $900 to remove and install ($3200 for engine/removal/installation of reman with core motor trade).
I assume you got the car back. What exactly is missing/what is left?
Don't let them get the upper hand.
Call Mazmart and see what it will cost you to have a complete drivetrain including shipping and installation.
