Question Help: Need Rotary Performance Mechanic who built Silver '93 R1 motor for Girlfriend.

Supposedly, it was built by Rotary Performance for a lady who liked to go fast. I put it in a '94 and got it running (not right yet) and want to know if anyone knows the builder or what RP might have done. It will make 15lbs of boost easy - scary fast.

The silver wreck that I retrieved it from was running with the STOCK '93 ECU.

The only reason I know that the engine has been ported, has bigger injectors and has upgraded turbos is because a friend asked Ary to check it out. He wouldn't give details, and I don't want to blow it to find out what was done.

Motor was built in June of 2000.

TIA

why not go to their website, rx7.com? I'm sure they have an email link, and a phone number you can call.

Done that. All that I have been able to find out is that its been ported (don't know to what degree), has upgraded turbos (don't know how they spool), and has different/larger injectors (don't know how big). I believe Ary owns the shop. He had someone look up the VIN and gave the above info, and that it belonged to an employee's girlfriend?? who was due to come in for a short shifter before she got wrecked.

Anyway, there is something special about it, I just want to get the right computer (and maps) to keep it that way.

Don't run the car more than 10 psi without upgrading the ECU. It doesn't really matter which ECU you go with. I suggest getting the A'pexi Power FC and Commander. However, the Pettit Racing's ECU is good too. If you go with the Pettit's unit get the unlimited chip. As for your injectors send them out to RC Engineering and they will clean, and do a flow test for you. They will be able to find out the injector size. As for the engine, it is most likely a street ported engine. Bridge ported engines are not really done, because it's mostly just for racing and it will idle like ****.

I'm surprised that RP wasn't really that helpful to you, they usually are. Try calling them and pretend that you just blew your engine and would like to know what they usually do when they rebuild the engines. Ask them if they upgrade the seals and do some type of reliability mods inside the engine.

Called again

Chris at RP was familiar with the engine and gave me all of the information I needed.

Primary injector was replaced (was leaking) with stock.
Engine was street ported - 3mm Apex seals.
Stock Turbos.
No ECU upgrade because it was setup with a Catback.

Chris recommended the PFC, a fuel pump and a 850cc Primary if I wanted some more grunt.

Thanks,

Am driving it like a baby 'till my computer and fuel pump arrive.
