Help!!Need advice for 93 R1

I changed the oil in my 93 R1 and Cleaned the air filters! I was on my way to go race it for the first time and the car lost all power! It is idiling funny and won't even come close to producing any boost! The car always ran rich and would backfire everytime i shifted! Some say they think the motor is blown but i'm not sure! The motor was rebiult 20,000 miles ago and i haven't beat on it at all! One other thing is that my buddy said my apexi boost controller wires were torn and they were not connected! Could that cause it to flood or foul the plugs? I was just wondering what needs to be done to trouble shoot this problem? Maybe it's blown but i think it flooded or needs a major tune up! not sure! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Do a compression test:

Also, check the MAP sensor, its a sensor at the back of the engine bay, with the words "BOOST SENSOR" on it. That has a vacuum line coming off it that goes behind the UIM. If it popped off, it would have put the car into "Limp Mode" and be running like you have stated also.

I was the 23,453rd person to post this question just last week. In my case, it was failure to fully connect an ECU harness. If your boost controller wiring is messed up, and since it is wired into the ECU harness, you could have some wiring issues. Get the wiring fixed first. It may not be the problem, but I was about to tow my car to get an engine rebuilt before I found that I simply had not plugged a connection in fully.

I heard that if the car is not warmed up it will give you a false compression reading! Is that true?

Yup - car has to be fully warmed up. I'm surprised the Rotary Resurrection text forgot to mention that.

Where in NJ are you located?

tears in your boost controller vacuum hoses are a very bad thing.....how much boost did you see before these problems started?
