ok here is the problem: If I gun the car from 1st gear and shift into second the car runs perfectly fine until i shift from 2nd to 3rd. As soon as i get into third the rpm drops all the way to 3000 even until full throttle, what is wrong with my baby? can anyone help? thanks all help is appreciated

side note: all gears are fine except for third gear (especially from second to third) but she will do fine if you do a rolling start on third

 

how much boost are you running? what are your mods?

i bet you have a boost leak.

 

i am running stock boost as far as i know of..maybe a little creep here and there, what should i look for?

my mods are:
downpipe, catback, pfs smic, alumninum radiator, intake

check your hoses especially the ones on the intercooler.

 

Stock computer? That's a lot of mods for the stock ECU. You could be hitting fuel cut.

a possibilty but i think highly unlikely if he still has the stock cat on. i had a similar problem getting boost after shifting into 2nd and 3rd about a year ago and it ended up being a brittle vac line that had partialy torn. it was somewhere in the rats nest, i will post again if i remember which one it was exactly.

ok this is confusing me. if im not mistaken, that sounds like you missed third and threw it into fifth. im sure you know how to shift your car so please elaborate on that for me if you can.

 

Are you basically saying it won't hold boost in third, or are you saying it won't rev past 3k in third?

 

while under full throttle: from 2nd to 3rd the rpm drops all the way to 3000rpm and then it will slowing pick up....like level7 said, it does feel like i shifted into 5th but i know i didnt. I tried this a couple of times before already and same results...any other suggestions...hope this is clearer...i will also try all the suggestions you guys gave...thanks again
