This is a very good indication you are running very rich. Have you ordered a down pipe from anyone yet ? ? ?
NOW MY CAR DRIVES ABOUT 2 MILES AND DIES FROM THE HEAT. It wont start back up for like 2 hours until cooled down. When I START BACK UP IT GOES 1 MILE AND DIES. Help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The factory gauge usually doesn't show the temps are too hot until it is too late and time for a rebuild. Buy a downpipe and some PB blaster and then do a search on the install.

Your engine 'temp' gauge measures coolant temperature, far away from the exhaust manifold. So the intense heat of the manifold won't show on that gauge, which by the way doesn't really show you much, if any, 'measurement' of the water temperature anyway.
I suggest you take the car to a rotary shop for some skilled evaluation. You could have injectors dumping fuel, or a clogged cat, etc. The computer is probably fine - even as rich as the stock computer runs it's usually not going to glow a downpipe when everything else is functioning 100%. I feel the injectors and exhaust are a higher priority.

if i had known what the pre-cat looked like before i had taken it out i dont think i would have the heart to drive my car without replacing it. remember this pipe is the beggining of the exhaust, so its going to be one of the hottest parts on the car, but i dont think it should be glowing? if you watch the videos of the guys running their motors @9k till it blows their downpipe turns red, but an idling car? Id say replace that precat, obviously for some reason heat isnt moving through it very well....but if the engine problem persists it could be something deeper and you should probably take it to someone who knows what they are doing.
