Help! My doors won't unlock!!

Hello everyone,

Today I finally installed kick panels back into my FD and I thought all was well. Later I tried to unlock my doors with my Clifford aftermarket alarm and the doors would "click" , but not actually unlock. No big deal right? Just use the key.. lol well My driver outer door handle isnt original so the key only works in the passenger side!!

Long story short, I'm assuming I must have messed something up poking around the wires when installing my kick panels today. What is confusing me is that the doors will lock using the remote, but not unlock- although I can hear the door "clicking". Upon examination of the inside, the lock/unlock handle actually does raise and lower with the pushing of the buttons on my remote, however in order to get that door unlocked I have to use my finger and push up on the inside handle, although it is already up, the door will click again, and then the door will open freely. It's as if it doesn't activate entirely with the remote to unlock the door

Where should I begin to look? Is there a specific wire I should target for the "unlock remote mechanism"? Please help as this really sucks having to get in through the passenger side!

Anyone who solves this for me will get a nice little PP gift

Oh, and I forgot to mention. I almost feel as if I could have possibly "re-activated" the factory alarm. When I was messing with the door handles on both sides trying to get in the car, I heard chimes I've never heard before, If it helps any

That is really something the alarm place should take care of . but if you are knowledgable about electrical you may be able to fix it yourself . Like you said it looks like something came loose when you were installing the kick panel . take a look and see if you see any obvious wires dangling . and where it might of come from . Otherwise . I would concider taking it back to the alarm installers and have them fix the issue

fixed!

Just wanted to update everyone here. It seems as if the factory alarm and the aftermarket alarm got somehow "crossed/confused". By simultaneously locking and unlocking the doors with both my clicker and the door levers, corrected my issue and now both are working flawlessly
