Have the same/similar problem!
Bought a jap spec 93 R1 about a 2 months back.
When driving, it wont boost,as soon as it gets to 0 on the boost gauge it starts misfiring ,bogging, etc.
I've since changed all the vacum pipes as well as changed to the simplified sequential set up mentioned in http://www.scuderiaciriani.com
Still has not helped although the problem is intermittent now.Had the car idling for 10 mins ,took it for a drive and did 2 runs and problem started again.Reset ecu - no joy.after an hour started the car drove off again ,managed to get into 4th gear and the problem started again. While driving i switched off the ignition it boosted as soon as i changed gear there was the misfiring and no boost pressure.Off load it revs fine sometimes and gets .4bar at WOT test.
Have triple checked all vacum hoses ,one way valves, changed map sensor still no luck.
Am trying poor mans non sequential mod ,hope it helps.

[i]I had it plugged onto a nipple on the side of the throttle body, it was the wrong nipple I am sure of it, I looked at a picture of where the MAP sensor hose goes, and put it there, and it began idling just fine. But now I have the above listed problems.[/B]
I was just courious did you correct it to the way the diagram shows, because you mentioned that it was plugged onto a nipple on the side of the throttle body, but isn't that where it's supposed to be plugged at?
I'm asking cuz I'm having similiar experiences.
