Help me spend $4000.00

I have $4000.00 to spend on my 95 RX-7 8.8K mi. It is stock and I live in Ohio. I'm not much on wrench turning, so my 3 choices (as far as I know) are The RX-7 Store in Columbus, Aim Tuning in Indy, and Banzai north of Indy. So tell me guys and gals, who is your favorite and what would you do to the car for around 4 grand. Thanks

Rx7 Store.

I would go with a normal catback like a HKS HiPower or a Greddy Sp2, Apexi PFC, Downpipe (Rx7store's are already bunged for tuning), Apexi Intakes, Fluidyne Rad w/ FC Switch mod, and vacuum lines.

I think that should get you close to what you are looking to spend and would give you some good power. Ohhhh I forgot the fuel pump. Anywho, I am sure if you swing by or give Jason a call he will be able to help you make the best choice.

Good luck,

Alex

Rx7store for sure. And just get all the reliability mods. Drive the car like that for a while and make sure nothin breaks. Then start doing some power mods.

My daily driver is an 01 Prelude. So that is covered. And I am leaning towards the RX-7 store. Jason was the only one of the three to answer an email. Thanks for all the great answers.

I'd say stick with reliability mods first... AST, ground straps, vac job. after that... you might want to look at brake lines, replacing the battery lines (searching will get that even though it's not in the FAQ from what I could see), and other basic maintenanace. That shoudl run you about $1000-1500 depending on how many wrenches you want to turn. If you don't want to turn any wrenches at all, and you want all the work done by someone else, then pay someone to do those mods, and even though alot of folks here will tell you what to do to get more hp from the engine, you'll be better off doing what I said and then seling the car for what you paid plus 1000. You won't recoop any money, buf if you're not gonna turn a wrench, then you're gonna end up paying dearly for this car.

Bring the car up and we can go over it and talk about a path for modifications.

Oh yeah, that reminds me... check the buyer/seller ratings and remember that being a Mod might help the rating. I've had a bad experience, but many have had good experiences..... just my warning, but everything may work out for you.

Your right, but I'll never sell this car. In 93 I sat in the new RX-7 in a Mazda showroom. I tried every way to buy one but did not have the money. Now I do. I will enjoy! Thanks

I agree 100%.

Or sell the 8.8k 95 and mod the crap out of two cars.
