Help me! I'm looking to buy a 3rd gen FD and need to know what to look for.

Hello everyone, I've been looking at the RX-7 literally for years now. I've always wanted to buy one, but reliability frightens me. Although I have done my own research I would really appreciate some owners two cents. What should I be looking for specifically when I go to buy one of these cars? What should I do in general before purchasing... take it to a mechanic... check oil pressure... anything? Also, after I purchase one, what is the regular maintenance? I read a thread in here I think about how someone blew there apex seal and that the rotor or the housing was really dirty and that to avoid that you should red line the rx every once in a while? Like I said, I have no experience driving one. Anything you can suggest to me as a consumer looking to buy a nice well maintained and good performing RX-7 and how to keep it maintained would really be appreciated. If all goes well this year, maybe I'll be showing off a car of my own on here. Thanks guys.
