If its an fd transmission then you would need an fd driveshaft. Whats more important is the car its going in. You would need a driveshaft the correct length and with the correct diff flange on it for the application.

So to answer your question, you would want an fd driveshaft.... for what, we don't know

Mazda only has a couple of sizes, the turbo FC, FD and HIGH POWER Rx8 use the big one, and the 78-1991 non turbo Rx7, Miata use the small one

its a Mazda transmission, and it looks like an FD bellhousing, but maybe the rest is Rx8?

Looks like there's a crossmember attached at the back of the box? Can't see evidence of the 2 PPF mounting studs on the extension housing, a better picture there may assist.

The auto tailshaft has a different companion flange at the diff, no idea on the sliding yoke you'll need to cut off to make one for the BM.

Can't tell you, 15 or 20 years since I last saw an auto shaft. Assuming it is a FD box, and short of seeing the extension housing, it does look like one.....a Rx8 5 speed will be a suitable donor too. I've got both a FD manual and Rx8 6 speed carbon tailshaft, elsewhere, can probably check spline count in a few days if you want.

The throttle body on that engine, I might consider throwing in the nearest body of water, to see if it floats!

Eventually got there! The rx8 6 speed and FD interchange, sliding yoke same length, spline count is 21, plus 2 points missing 2 splines = 25. The only major difference, tailshaft diameter is 61mm on the FD, 66mm on the rx8.

Again, no info on autos. Although there's a few cross over converts contaminating the gene pool, Rx8 club might be a better chance.
