help with intake man gasket and fuel injectors

Hi rx7 community! I'm new to the 3rd gen (and to fast cars in general) and i made the mistake of getting a rather dilapidated 1993 rx7. I was conned into thinking it was in working condition when in fact it was on the brink of death My buddies checked out the car once I got it and my pals told me I needed to buy these:

1) Intake manifold gasket (upper intake manifold gasket)
2) Primary and secondary injectors
3) fuel lines

I'd like to know what I should get, and please keep in mind that eventually I'll probably go aftermarket, so I'd rather get the aftermarket stuff now rather than spend for stock now and aftermarket gear later on. Please tell me that these parts cost less than a grand all together.

Thanks fellow rx7 lovers! Either respond to the thread or PM me

Patrick

intake gaskets can be made out of Captian Crunch Boxes and believe me they work! I guess unless you think you'll be taking it off alot then get the metal ones. I'll be selling my 850's in about a week w/ rail so keep in touch.

Stock primaries are 550cc, secondaries are 850cc. IMO, you should just get 1300cc secondaries now, from rx7store.net (they drop right in to the stock rails). They's keep you in good shape up till 14 psi, give or take.

he needs a computer to control those 1300s first. if your car is in stock setup, just stick with the stock. . . setup. get it running, THEN figure out what youre gonna do. i think the 1300s will allow more than 14psi, but dont quote me on that. ill find out soon enough. haha. i may be putting 850s in later on, if im not satisfied. haha.

while youre in there you need to replace the fuel pulsation damper. that thing goes bad and you smell fuel so rich it makes you gag. . . then your car goes up in flames. i was lucky enough to make it home before all that happened. . . a loooooooong time ago.

what is the real problem with the car? why did your friends tell you thats what you needed. . . odds are, you need more than that.

Once you install the new fuel lines...be sure to insulate them with some heat protective wrap....it will protect you in the long run from the fuel fire recall!! my .02
